Prior to auditioning for the title of the next international singing idol, it is advisable to evaluate your pitch using eTuner.

eTuner has been specifically developed and rigorously tested to support a wide range of instrumental talents, accommodating wind, brass, and string instruments as well.

This interactive chromatic tuning application, available on iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch, leverages the advanced audio quality and display capabilities of these devices. It effectively determines and presents musical pitch information in real-time as users play an instrument, hum, or sing a note. Beyond mere tuning, eTuner is also beneficial for scale studies and intonation checks during performance.

• Graphical note display: eTuner presents the closest note name detected, along with the variance from that pitch relative to the next higher or lower note. Additionally, it indicates whether the pitch is high, low, or acceptable in relation to the displayed note name. Frequency and octave number can also be shown optionally, with an adaptable display oriented vertically or horizontally.
• Simple, easy-to-read display: The note display is crafted for quick interpretation within the musician's field of vision, enabling focus on the music stand while supporting peripheral visual cues.
• Chromatic tuning with user-selectable scale key: eTuner covers all twelve pitches in an octave. Users can choose to display note names specific to their selected key. For instance, selecting a minor key will show names for both harmonic and melodic scales when ascending or descending. Notes outside the selected key are presented according to standard chromatic scale conventions.
• NEW! Additional display style: A new option is available for users who prefer a white background and thinner text, allowing for customizable display preferences.
• NEW! Support for transposed instruments: eTuner accommodates various instruments by displaying the "written note" for C, D, A, G, B flat, E flat, and F instruments. Users can select their instrument key from the preferences view.
• Calibration settings: The application offers flexible calibration options to adjust tuning from the standard a'=440Hz.
• Heads-up preferences display: A simple tap on the screen reveals the eTuner toolbar while pressing the 'i' button provides access to preferences.

Unlike some critics who may not hold back on feedback, eTuner remains tactfully silent if the tone quality does not suffice for pitch determination.
